The premise that God owns all things is a true statement. There
isn't anything that God does not own. He started this whole place,
He will end it on His terms. I think it would be wise to go along
with Him instead of against Him. You will have a better life. Once
we learn this basic principle, our lives can change if we apply it
to our daily lives. Keep a journal or diary and see how God works
in your life. Read the bible and apply what you read to your life
and believe on Him who was sent to save your soul from hell and
destruction.
This site is dedicated to Truth, saving souls of human beings,
helping people in need and teaching just a little of what I know
to be true from life's experiences by what is written in the Holy
Bible as the comparison for absolute truth... God's manual to
living on this planet. I believe the Holy Bible is the absolute
truth. In this present day, many people have been indoctrinalized
and inoculated into believing this lie; that there is or are no
absolutes. This breeds much confusion. How can anyone ever say
that there are no absolute truths. Just pondering about that
concept would make any rational individual
(that will be honest with themselves) realize that this cannot be
a true statement. It's just a way out of taking full
responsibility for one's own actions. Or allowing certain beliefs
or habits into one's life with no moral regrets. It will never be
true and cannot be a true statement. Is murder wrong or is cold
blooded murder right? That's just one example of an argument to
this lie.
I do not claim to be anything but a Christian. A follower of Jesus
Christ. I do not place myself under any denomination's official
name, although I do attend a Baptist church. I am a saved sinner
(just like every human is a sinner)
justified by Jesus Christ's bloodshed, death and resurrection on
the cross for my sin atonement. For if it was not for that
sacrifice for my sins, I
would be dead in my sins and go to hell when I die. I would not
have the authority or right to come to our Lord Jesus Christ with
my petitions and concerns or even speak to the Father. Rather I would only have the right to
be forgiven as my only petition or to ask God to show Himself to
me to prove that He is real, so that I CAN be saved from myself. Why? Because the wages of sin is death and all have
sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.
I have been reading the bible since I was about 12. Certainly not
as I should have lately and certainly do not claim to be anywhere close
to a perfect man or a master man of knowledge and practitioner of
God's Word and teachings. I try, but I'm far from that, which is
why I am thankful for Jesus Christ and what He did on the cross
for all of us, especially myself. This is why the Bible says to
renew our minds and stay in His Word daily. Test this out
and see if it is true. I KNOW it is. I have been through some very
mean times in my life as most people have. If i get to a place
where I cannot handle life, I realize that I am not reading the
Bible and fully trusting God. When I begin reading it seems like i
cant concentrate on the Word. but when I stay at it, they really
do come alive. Sometimes they come alive immediately and I KNOW
that God is helping me right then. It is such a good feeling that
really cannot be described in our language.
Is the Bible still relevant even 2000+ years after Jesus Christ
died for all our sins? Yep, 100%. Love is the goal, heaven is the
goal, good works to glorify God is the goal, but
a relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is the
ultimate goal and is what God
wants from us. Jesus said that really the only 2
commandments we need is to #1, Love the Lord your God with all
your heart mind and being and secondly to do unto others as you
would HAVE them do unto you. All the other commandments fall under
those two if you examine them.
I have found that God's Word
is true weather we believe it or not. I have lived the outcome in
this lifetime of certain decisions I chose to make that I was
forewarned against doing from reading the bible. Many people would
find these things small ticket compared to some major issues,
but every decision we make in life steers us where we go in
the future and course for our life.
Large or Small, doesn't matter.
I have learned that it is
better to just take God's word for a matter, rather than to learn
it after the fact or the hard way. His Word is true and will and
can not not ever become otherwise.
The opposite side of believing and trusting God is Hell (when
we die) and a life of wandering with no real purpose while we
are alive on this planet.
A real place of everlasting torment where the worm never dies.
Hell is a place of darkness, sorrow, mourning, pain, regret, no
rest, no peace, uncomfortable to the extreme 'nth'. It is a place
that no one on the earth or in Hollywood (not even Stephen King),
in their wildest imagination could think up of how terrible,
permanent, unpleasant, painful and unjoyful hell will be. yes it
is sad to think about the fact that many people will be there.
Some of the devil's lies about hell is that there is no hell, its
here on earth, its not as bad as God says it is or that maybe hell
is just a place of continual partying. He is also deceived himself
into believing that he will overthrow God. The devil's angels even
know that that isn't going to happen. Read in the bible -
Luke 4:34 - Saying, Let us alone; what have we to
do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us?
I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.
See also Luke 8:28 When he
saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud
voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God
most high? I beseech thee, torment me not. - So, even the demons
prayed to Jesus and believe in God. It is not enough to believe in
God. You must trust Him and believe IN AND ON HIM.
The devil speaks to us in half truths mostly (like he did to Eve
in the famous garden of Eden), to make the lies sound honest,
official and truthful, but the real truth is that hell is a place
where God is not and will not be. It is where he will place
those WHO CHOOSE by their own decisions to be, away from God.
He will forget them as they requested and decided to purposefully
forget God. They wanted and desired to forget God while they had
life on this earth and the consequence is that God will honor
their request. It is total separation from God and His love,
forever. It is death. There is more in the bible describing hell
than there is describing heaven.
Hell is a real place that was originally created for the
reservation of the devil and his angels when he considered in his
heart to be like God and want to rule over God. Of course the
devil is no match for his creator and he knows this and knew this.
If he doesn't, his angels (demons) sure do as the bible plainly
shows in the New Testament.
Maybe this is the answer to that smart-alec question, "Can God
create a rock so big that even He can't lift it up"? I believe He
could if He wanted to, but would not, for what is the purpose?
Then again, there isn't anything that He cant do, except go
against His own Word, commandments or do evil and wickedness. But,
those angels that chose to follow the devil instead of God,
(yes they had a choice as we do) are going to be tormented day and
night forever and ever.
Due to the fact that God was gracious enough to give us humans
(His creation) free will (hence the evil that is in this world),
sadly, many nice people who chose to reject Jesus Christ (the only
way to salvation from eternal damnation) will be there as well.
Some believe that this is either unfair or untrue. It is neither.
It is our choice and we all get to hear the Gospel and decide for
our own selves. Some believe that earth is hell because we
experience bad times, sometimes extremely bad and horrific times.
If anyone knows about that, it would be me. The fact is that no
one promised anyone a good and perfect, problem free life. God never did after the fall of mankind.
So if any pastor
teaches you that once you become saved your problems are over, do
not follow him. Yes, DO be SAVED from
hell! But the more we obey Him, the better our lives
will be. We can have the peace that surpasses all understanding
that will rest on us. Even if were going through what we feel is
the roughest times. It is difficult to describe, besides saying that even in
the middle of the worst times that you can't imagine would ever
happen, there is still an inner peace. That doesn't mean you're
happy about the circumstance. I cant stand people who pretend that
extremely tough situations don't bother them. They bother
everyone. That's being human. some people handle it different than
others, some are more patient, and some become so distraught over
circumstances that it steals their joy. Joy and happiness are two
different things. I've been in both places, both extremes within
the last few years, so I have the authority to speak about this.
Joy should always be in your soul after your saved. Happiness is
when your hope is filled.
The old testament (Proverbs) says that hope
deferred makes the heart grow sick but when that hope comes it is
a wellspring of life. I cant remember the actual verse so I'm sure
its a paraphrase, but that's what it means in
Proverbs. I've found that to be true in my life.
Jesus' word says
that through much tribulation shall you enter the kingdom of
heaven. more about that Below

To obey is better than sacrifice - 1
Samuel 15:22 - And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great
delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying
the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than
sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. |
Back when that part of the Bible was written,
people sacrificed animals to The Lord. Only the best would be
accepted. Best in muscle tone, best in appearance, best shape etc.
and that what hat verse is referring to I believe. It is still
relevant today. Jesus was our unblemished, perfect sacrifice for
atonement for our sins. I realize that for many it is a difficult
concept, especially in this day when we are sold science and human
nature as the popular religion. I guess the best way to look at it
is this...
I learned this from Kirk Cameron's ideas of
presenting the gospel. It is the most simple and honest approach.
There are 10 commandments by God. Really there are two that all
the rest hang on: Love the Lord with all your heart, mind and soul
and love your neighbor as yourself. If these are followed, you
cant fail with God and all the others will be obeyed. Fact is, no one is sinless. No one has
followed all the commandments. There are many really GOOD people
and you may be one of them. But Like I said above there will sadly
be nice/good people in hell. I hate to even think about that.
So lets look at some of the Commandments that God
demands that we keep:
- have you ever told a lie? What does that make
you? What are people called when they are caught lying?
- Have you ever lusted after someone else who you
weren't married to? Jesus said that who ever looks on a woman with
lust in their heart has committed adultery already.
- Have you ever stolen anything? Even if it was
worth one penny? or a pencil? if you took something that was not
yours to take, then that is stealing. What does that make you?
- Have you ever murdered anyone? I hope not. But
Jesus said that if you are angry without a cause against your
brother, you are guilty of murder in your heart.
Those are only four of the ten commandments. Since
it is that easy to go against God's perfect holiness, what would a
just and good judge say at the hearing against these things? A
corrupt judge would say, "we'll let you slide this time".
But a just and sovereign judge would not allow a murderer or
rapist to go free. A sin is a sin as far as sin is concerned.
You're either guilty or innocent in the court's eyes. You wouldn't
want a judge to let a murderer go free or a rapist would you? I am
not comparing stealing a pencil to raping someone. I am pointing
out that sin is sin and breaking the law is breaking the law. So
then, now that we have established this, what if you admitted that
you are a Lying, adultering, thieving, murderer (at least at
heart), even if it was for one second and only one time?
So you're standing before the judge with only these
charges before you. what will you say? That you've done enough
good to outweigh the bad? That doesn't work. Most other (if not
all) religions place their standard of obtaining enlightenment or
atonement on the basis of doing good works. Christianity is the
ONLY one where we place our trust in a perfect sacrifice because
we are not holy and cant live up to God's standards. How many
other religious leaders even claimed to have risen from the dead?
How many have over 500 eyewitnesses of their resurrection? I don't
know of any other than Jesus Christ.
God demands holiness from His creation. There is
nothing wrong with being a good person or trying to be. We are
told to do good works to glorify God the Father in heaven. The
world would be a better place if everyone did their best to be a
good person. but if you asked the judge to please just let my
murder slide because I did a lot of good charitable events
prior... what should he say? If he lets you go Scott free, that is
a corrupt a judge and just as guilty as the person standing in the
defendants place. So you are to pay the cost, the price of the
penalties. The only way to do this is to offer perfection. We cant
do that. Jesus was that perfect man. He never sinned once. Not
even in His heart. He was perfect before God and man. He ALWAYS
did the will of His Father. We normally do the will of ourselves.
While Jesus was living as a man on this planet he
was tempted as every man has been tempted. Even the devil offered
him the entire world and all the riches and honor if he only fell
down and worshipped him. Jesus refused and refuted him with
Scripture.
So were back to the sentencing for the crimes.
What
if someone told you that your fines and penalties were paid for
you? Would you take that? Would you accept that or would you
rather pay the fines and penalties yourself? All you have to do is
take the payment and tell the judge that it was all paid in full
by someone else. That someone else is Jesus Christ. That was the
whole purpose of dying on the cross and coming back to life. You
do realize that NO other religion even claims that any of their
leaders resurrected themselves? Jesus makes this claim. He is
real. There is historical evidence that every event
in the new testament and many in the old testament were 100%
accurate. Not only that, but prophecies that were told that have
come true, came true to the punctuation.
No one else has ever done this. No one else has
that ability. Only God.
Take Jesus Christ right now as your payment for
your sins so that you can escape hell. When you believe ON and in
Jesus, you will read His Word and get to know Him. If you ask Him
to show himself to you, He will. Try it and see.
On the day that Jesus was suffering on the cross
there were two men on either side of him. One believed that Jesus
was the son of God and knew Jesus could save his soul and no one
else. And that he knew he was guilty as being punished. He asked
Jesus for mercy and forgiveness and Jesus said that "Truly I
say to you, today you
will be with ME in paradise". The other man told Jesus that
if you
are the son of God like you say you are, get us down from here and let us not suffer
this death. He knew he was guilty, but his heart was that he
shouldn't be punished, or didn't deserve to be punished for his
sins and only wanted a way from escaping his judgment. Jesus kept
silent. Even the roman guards mocked Jesus with those words.
Afterwards, when Jesus died and the sky went dark,
lightnings and thunderings and the temple vale was split in two by
God. Since it was a holy occasion (Jewish Passover), they had to
dispose of the bodies sooner than normal. One of the guards came
to break the legs of the men on the cross, but Jesus was already
dead. This also fulfilled a prophecy that not one of his bones
shall be broken. The guard poked him in the side to make sure he
was dead and blood and water came flowing out. The guard said
surly this was the Son of God. No one has water come out of them.
Just blood.
Jesus also showed Himself to over 500 witnesses
after he rose from the grave. That is a lot of eye witnesses.
There are accounts in history books as evidence that this is true.
Even the ones who hated Jesus back in those days didnt refute that
Jesus had risen from the dead. So there is nothing false about Jesus or His teachings or words in
the Bible. Take what He did for all who will obey Him and accept
his gift of everlasting, eternal life. The opposite side of that
is everlasting death, eternally. Sounds like a no brainer to me.
Believe in Jesus Christ and live.
One thing that I believe that will happen in hell is the full
remembrance of this life. Especially all the times one had a
chance to be saved, all the words they heard of God giving them a
chance to repent and be forgiven and not be where they are. All
the tugs at their souls to obey God to follow Him and go His way.
This I personally think is what the 'weeping and gnashing of
teeth' means, regret. Forever regretting
that they chose to believe the lie or worshiping the creature more
than the Creator as described in Romans 1:25 - Who
changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the
creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
Another lie that the devil throws out there are the questions; "If
you give your life to God, do you know what He might do to you? Do
you know what He will take away from you? We don't know until we
do it. I know this though, God has never taken anything GOOD away
from me or anyone else I know. Sure bad things will happen, this is part of the fall of
mankind when the first man, Adam sinned and sin entered into the world.
Do you recall in the bible when God was so upset that He even
created us that He repented of it and was going to fully destroy
us all? Thankfully, God is a Just God and spared the lives of Noah
and his family to replenish the earth. Noah was the only man who
didn't have continual evil in his heart. The Bible says that
everyone on the earth were continually evil at that time but
spared Noah and his family to replenish the earth with animals and
people after the flood. By the way, that really makes us
all of us distant cousins doesn't it? Science proves time
and again that the earth was fully covered by water at one point
in time (if you were wondering). Science ALWAYS proves
Scripture. God really does love us. He hates
sin. He hates it when we sin against each other because it is
ultimately sinning against Him. We all deserve hell. thankfully
God loved us enough to send His ONLY son; Jesus to take our place,
pay off our sin debt in full. There is no other way that we can
enter heaven or even have a relationship with God. A gift. Salvation is a gift.
The
bible says it is the gift of eternal life. A gift is free.
We must
receive a gift in order to own that gift.
If someone who was very
wealthy wanted to give you a wrapped present would you take it?
The gift would not be yours unless you actually took it and
received it. Then no matter what was inside the wrapped present
would be yours. It's the same with the gift of salvation except we
KNOW what that gift is.
This is why Christians are certain and very secure in their
beliefs and about their future after they die. It is also WHY they
want others to know. No Christian wants to see ANY PERSON go
to hell. No matter how badly they have acted on this
planet. Now I wont be a hypocrite and say that there are some very
evil men out there and have been who I at one time would have
wanted to be in Hell but once we forgive them (and we have to or
Jesus will not forgive us), then we cant stand the thought of them
in a permanent place or torment. They can understand that to die
is to gain because we will be with Christ after this life. What
hope is there in going about your days without a true purpose or a
true meaning or believing that once you die, that's it? Why be a
good person if once you die that's all there is? What would it
matter? sadly a lot of very loving, nice and giving people
that do not believe in Jesus as their savior will not be in
heaven. and I'm speaking of ETERNITY. That is forever.
Time will not exist. It only exists here on earth. Yes, that
is a strange concept to try and grasp and no one will until we get
there after we leave the planet.
So where
do you want to be for ever? In a place where you'll remember
all your regrets and the most important one about being saved
continually, that is a place of torment continually, where the
worm never dies and there is NO REST or in a place where you
will be peaceful and have real joy and real REST for ever? It IS
YOUR CHOICE to make. no one is forcing anything on you. It is a
choice just like Adam and Eve made in the garden when tempted by
the devil to eat forbidden fruit. They only had ONE RULE. That was
it. One. So I don't believe it is upbringing that causes people to
be good bad. It is their own choices to make in this life. I
highly doubt that God the Father of all the Living was a bad
Father and neglected them in any way. It was the opposite. They
had the best of the best and still disobeyed the ONLY rule there
was on the entire planet. We have NO IDEA how good they had it. we
do know from what the bible tells us that they didnt have to work
for their food until they sinned against God. all their days were
relaxed, pleasant and probably was more of any paradise than any
human can ever imagine. Heaven will be better and so far PAST any
human beings imagination that it boggles my mind to hear someone
tell us what we will have or wont have in heaven. we don't know.
God is gracious. Jesus said," in my Fathers house are many
mansions, I go now to prepare a place for you. If this were
not true I would have told you". (paraphrased by me) Personally
I'd rather be with God, have NO WANTS ever and live in a mansion
when I leave this earth than do nothing but gnash my teeth and be
in want for eternity. But that's just me. What is that YOU
want?
Many people who do not know The Lord have asked this question,
"How can a loving God condemn someone He loves to hell"?
The short answer is,
He doesn't. I answered this
above actually. He allows us to
choose our own way. He set the rules, but we have full power over
the decision to choose God or our own selves. He plainly tells us
of the consequence of choosing our own way that is not of God. He
has written his commandments on every human's conscience. We all
know right from wrong, no one is deprived of that, although the
current world view and theology is that there are no absolutes.
God did not create pre-programmed robots without freewill.
That is one of the beautiful things that He gave us, free will.
Like everything, this liberty can be misused and abused and is by
everyone. We all have sinned and fell short of God's glory. What
good would it be to God if we were all doing nothing but obeying a
program? Always doing the what God wants us to do but ONLY because
He forced us too? No, it doesn't work that way, He gave us free
will. That is the reason for evil on earth and why bad things
happen to good people. God does not interfere with man's will.
Can you see how complex and deep this topic can get? On one side
He knows everything that we will do from the time we are born until
the time we die. He knows WHEN we will die and how we will die.
He know the number of hairs we have on our heads. He knows
everything. Then the other questions comes up... then why would a
loving God allow bad things to happen to good people? Again, the
answer is in free will. He tells us not to do things by writing
the 10 commandments on all of our hearts (Romans 2:15), but He
gives us the freedom to choose one way or the other. Bad decisions
made to harm good people happen. It is life.
Can't God protect us? of course, and I'm
willing to bet that if we KNEW all the times He DID protect us
we'd bow down many times a day with thanksgiving and praise!
Let's try to look at rejecting Jesus Christ (God's only begotten
Son) from this perspective...
How would you feel if
you watched the people that you created and had rule and authority
over, break your rules, not care about you as much as you care
about them and actually know that they would rather forget you and then reject a
powerful, LOVING act of sending your ONLY Son to die in their
place because you REALLY wanted to be with them that badly?
Again watching them go about their lives that you gave them,
(hearing every word they speak) rejecting that final massive
effort after telling them that if they reject it, you will not be
able to be alive anymore, but even worse, suffer permanent
detachment, forever? But if you DO choose it, you can live forever
in glory and perfect serenity. God sent His ONLY Son to be a
sacrifice for us! we are filthy rags compared to God's glory.
Nothing that we've ever done right is close to God's
righteousness. And is why we need a savior.
For myself the trade off is a 'no-brainer'. Death or life? Hmmmm...
Life for me please!
Jesus Christ was a perfect man who never sinned once. He did only
those things that pleased His Father. He was the sacrifice
offering for every human beings sins, past present and future.
There is no more atonement for sin other than this sacrifice to
God.
Again, I don't claim to be an expert and know everything. And yes,
you must have faith to please The Lord. It isn't that difficult to
believe when you look at even simple science or how a plant grows
of its own kind from seed. Or how each animals is unique and how
the human body is so extremely complex and perfectly made. We
simply cannot be here by chance or evolution of cells over a
period of millions of years. Believing in evolution (Darwin's
style) takes more faith to believe in than someone telling you its
going to rain gold bricks next Tuesday.
God Loves you. He loves me, He loves us all despite all our flaws. He made a way
out of being punished for our sinful ways. We need only believe
and accept the grace that He gave and the gift of work of the
cross where Jesus paid our price.
Why should you, might you believe what the Bible and Christians
say about Jesus?
Jesus of Nazareth was a real person. This is historical
fact. The accounts of his life while on earth are written in
other historical books other than the Bible. So it is pure
ignorance to say that Jesus didnt even exist. The same Jesus died on a cross, this is historical fact.
There were over 500, FIVE HUNDRED eyewitnesses to his resurrection.
The resurrection is a credible story that there is no way to dispute
it other than denying it without facts to back that thinking or
deception to prove otherwise.
1 - If Christ's followers would have stolen His dead
body and hid it, they eventually would have said so after a few
were killed for His names sake, one maybe even before ONE person was killed. Who dies
for a known lie? Who would be tortured on purpose for a known lie?
No One. How many will die for a lie and suffer extreme
persecution to themselves and their family? Plus the soldiers who
were to watch over the grave with the very large stone rolled and
locked into place could have been killed by their own government if they allowed Jesus'
followers to steal his body. There just is no reason why Jesus'
followers would have wanted to steal His body.
So, that could not have happened.
2 - If the ones who hated Jesus and the whole Christian
movement (the ones who put Him to death on the cross) had stolen
his body, the plan would have been to have revealed it by now for
the purpose to
put an end to this entire Christianity concept if it were a lie
and of no value. That would be the only motive to do that.
But that didn't happen either.
3 - The Stories in the Bible were told without changing
from generation to generation until it was finally placed on
paper. How many stories can be told by masses without ONE thing
left out or added and for that many generations and that much time
would have resulted in a completely different story.
It stayed true! It has not changed!
4 - Not one prophesy in the Old Testament has been
false and many have already come to pass exactly has written. This
is an improbable, impossible thing for human beings to do. No one
can predict the future with this much accuracy. Not one person. If
you think so , name one? Just one. If you think you can name one,
how many came true vs. how many did not come true? ALL the
prophecy of the Bible has been fulfilled with 100% accuracy and
there are many more to come. Keep in mind that they will all be
fulfilled as it is written. For some this is a scary thought.
5 -
Christianity is THE ONLY faith that does NOT depend on what we do,
but what someone else did for us. All other religions make it dependant
upon what we can try to attain or achieve or be of our own
selves. But God knows us
better than that. He knows how difficult temptation to sin is.
Jesus went though EVERY temptation known to man kind and overcame
them all. He is alive today, He is sitting on the right hand of
God and we will one day be judged by Him, The Word of God. He is
God's spoken Word. The book of John tells us of Jesus' Deity and
Lordship from the First line of the book. If you are not sure, you
should read that book. It is not very long. Ask God to show
Himself to you, He will do it if you really want Him to.
So...
Will you reject what God has done for us?
Sending His ONLY begotten Son, Jesus Christ to die in our place,
taking on our punishments? The act has already happened. We only
need to believe God, acknowledge and accept the Gift God provided
to us freely and for all people. It is a
FREE GIFT! We only need to believe it.
Jesus Said this in John 6:40
- And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which
seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life:
and I will raise him up at the last day.
Jesus Said this in John 6:47
- Truly, truly, I say unto you, He that believes on me has
everlasting life.
Are those
hopeful
words
or not?
Will you choose to reject Jesus Christ? I hope and pray no.

For There is NO GREATER NAME in heaven or in earth than
Jesus Christ!
|
Acts 4:10-12 - Be it known unto you all, and to all the
people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth,
whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him does
this man stand here before you whole.
[11] This is the stone which was set at nothing of you builders,
which is become the head of the corner.
[12] Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is
no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be
saved.
For the reason that there is no greater name in heaven or in earth
than the name of Jesus Christ, we are commanded to NOT take the
name of our Lord in vein. That means flippantly speak His name,
using it for profanity of course, even doing things in His name
that are not legitimate. Using His name as a get out
responsibility clause, speak it for no reason. Any way other than
pure reverence is using His name in vein. When the early writers
of the Holy Bible wrote the name of Jesus Christ in the Old
Testament, they had a special pen that they reserved for use to
ONLY write Jesus' name with. How is that for revering God's name?
In today's culture, the only time you hear the name of Jesus being
used by non-Christians is derogatory. Even some Christians lack
this understanding. I do not know how once you get to know Jesus
Christ.
The New
Age movement pushed onto us by people like Oprah Winfrey (and
what and who she supports) and many others all want to turn
around everything that is true into a lie and say that WE are our
OWN gods. we are the god of ourselves. This cannot be true past
the extent that God the Creator has given us the choice of
freewill to do as we please. And since He DID give us this choice,
many CHOOSE to do harm or evil against others. So again, you want to know
WHY God allows bad things to happen to good people? Because there
are BAD people who think that they have no one to answer to except
themselves. The concept stems from pure selfishness only. I am not saying
that Oprah does not do a lot of good things for a lot of people.
She certainly does. But No where in the Bible does it say that we
can get to heaven based on our good works. Or that we can OUTWEIGH
one sin that we've committed against God or someone else.
SO, good works are great and are required (in a way), but they
cannot save your soul from the depths of hell. Only Belief
in Jesus Christ can do this. Jesus says this Himself. It is He
that is the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE and NO MAN comes to the
FATHER but by HIM.
