She
comes home every evening after work and takes a load off
Plops
down on the couch props up her feet
thinkin
how the day went, how the nights they so fast,
A
couple hours of life, then its off to sleep.
The
weekends come and the hours fly and all too soon its Sunday night.
Thinking
to herself this aint no life, no life.
Whats
the deal, will it ever change?
Why
do things seem to stay the same?
Day
by day by week by year by year
Seems
like nothin' ever happens here.
Calls
up momma cryin', there's no answer hangs the phone up.
I
hold her close and I let her weep.
The
baby's sleepin soundly, although the dogs are barking loudly,
All
she wants, is a moments peace.
Holding
hands we walk outside.
Take
a look at Whats inside.
What
do we got?
It's
priceless even to say.
Mommy,
Daddy, baby's gonna fuss.
Picnic
in the park in God we trust.
Home
cooked meals smell good and fill the soul.
Resting
peace at night when all is done.
She
gets up Monday morning takes a bath and makes her face up.
Details
her dress runs out the door.
Driving
home for lunch she sees a man asking for handouts.
Thinking
to herself, wish I had more.
Life
is tough and sometimes mean, but the best in life is always free.
She
knows in her heart that were not really that poor.
Everything
we need we got its great!
We
get by and all the bills are paid.
Summer's
heat, the kids swinging in the shade.
We
complain but know we've got it made, Yeah!
We
got it made!
